A sox egy álltalános célú hang konverter, lejátszó és rögzítő parancssoros program, amely a legtöbb UNIX-szerű rendszeren fut. Nagyon sok formátumot támogat, emellett sokféle effekt alkalmazását is lehetővé teszi. A következő hangformátumokat támogatja (a program honlapja alapján):
